Is BeginClass completely free?
Yes. The current version makes all listed features available without an account, login, membership, or subscription. BeginClass does not impose minute, word, or session quotas.
What does “high-accuracy live translation” mean?
It refers to real-time speech transcription plus supported translation displayed while you listen. It is automated, not a human interpreter, and accuracy varies with language, accent, audio quality, noise, device, and system models.
Can BeginClass work offline?
After the required Apple language models are installed, core live speech recognition, local-file transcription, OCR, and supported system translation can work on-device. Initial model downloads, AI summaries, support, and store services need or may use the internet.
Does BeginClass upload my recordings for transcription?
Core live and local-file transcription uses Apple’s on-device speech technologies and does not require uploading the recording for transcription. Recordings, transcripts, translations, and notes are generally stored in the app’s private storage.
What is sent when I request an AI summary?
Only when you actively request a summary, the current transcript and necessary request information are sent through BeginClass’s AI service to generate that summary.
Can BeginClass transcribe another app’s audio?
On supported devices, you can use Apple’s system interface to choose a permitted audio source. BeginClass processes audio and does not save screen video. DRM-protected, silent, call-related, or unavailable audio may not work.
Is BeginClass available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac?
